Every year, the Pune Chapter of IIT Bombay Alumni Association opens doors to the world for innovators to realize their dreams through the Innovations event. Over the years, Innovations has evolved into a powerful brand built on integrity and excellence.

They say an innovation is the successful execution of a new idea. India is a hot bed of great ideas and inspiring individuals. It's just that their potential needs to be unlocked. A launch-pad has to be provided for them to catapult.

So what is Innovations?

It is a premier event which is a culmination of an exciting process of selecting innovations that are ready for scale up. The event allows the innovators to present their innovations to expert leaders from industry, government, media and investor community. It connects innovators to people and organizations that will potentially help them grow their ideas and concepts into successful business ventures.

Most importantly, it makes dreams come true!

This is how it works

Of course, you need an idea! Small or big - doesn't matter. It should be innovative, unique, not thought of before and original.
You should have at least taken the idea to a 'proof of concept stage' where you have a working prototype of a product or have piloted a service.
You have one? Great. Now submit your concept on this website. We will be restricting the total number of entries that we will accept for evaluation on a first come, first served basis. So please submit your entries as soon as you can. And remember the last date for entries is October 6th 2011.
Our expert panel will very carefully evaluate your idea against set criteria.
Short-listed innovators will be invited to a face to face meeting where you will make the initial pitch.
The best innovations chosen through the screening process will be selected to participate in the Innovations 2012 event.
Our experts will invest their time and knowledge to help you sharpen your innovation and the business case. They will get you ready to make an enticing pitch at the event.

You are now ready for the D Day!

What will happen at the event?

A renowned global thought leader will open the event and enlighten us. In the past, we were blessed to have eminent personalities such as Dr R A Mashelkar, Gururaj Deshpande, Sanjay Nayak and others.
You will then present your case to an audience and enthrall them with your innovation.
The invitees will visit your innovation at a dedicated booth at the venuu.
You will then get the opportunity of your lifetime to have intense interactions with the experts.
Stay back for the dinner and network with the best minds.
Be a star through the media campaign and get nationwide exposure.
Following the event, selected innovators will be mentored by expert mentors from a pool of IIT B alumni and our partners.

Can you participate?

If you are an innovator, yes you can! You can be from any field with any educational qualification. Age is no bar either. You can participate in your individual capacity or proudly represent your organization. We would like to particularly encourage start ups and small and medium enterprises. And don't worry, there are no charges. The only contribution from you will be your innovation! This is your opportunity to showcase your creativity, your unique and innovative ideas and the fire in your belly to change the world!

Our partners

We have joined hands with the Centre for Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship (CIIE) at the IIMA for the benefit of creative minds and technocrats who qualify for Innovations 2011. This provides a great opportunity for innovators to get mentored by the stalwarts from the field of technology and management. The CIIE will make its expertise in incubating and mentoring available to select innovations from Innovations 2011. They would also be eligible to participate in MentorEdge, the mentoring programme from industry experts at CIIE.
