Innovation 2009
 
How will your innovation be selected for showcasing
The overall process of innovation selection will be done by a panel of experts covering a broad range of experience. Throughout the selection and presentation process, you may maintain a level of secrecy as desired by you, or as necessary by the IPR process you are following.

Phase I: Inviting entries through entry form
Individual innovators / organizations are requested to fill in the online entry form available at www.innovations-pune.com. Optionally, if internet connection is intermittent, the attached entry form (as word document) can be filled and sent to
nominations@innovations-pune.com.  As a last option, the entry form may be mailed to Dr. S. G. Kane at
1, Indradhanushya Apartments, Agarkar Road, 827/A Shivaji Nagar, Pune 411004.

Last Date for submission of entries: 1st September 2008.
Your entry may be a process, product, design, method, application or even a business model or a model of social entrepreneurship. Innovations from all fields are welcome. Entries are sought from individuals, research/academic institutions, NGOs, or corporate entities (with an annual turnover less than Rs. 50 Crore).

Eligibility criteria for submitting an innovation entry are 
  • Innovation must be a truly novel idea
  • Must be based on the application of science / technology
  • The idea should have been introduced in practice
Phase II: Selection for Detailed Evaluation
  1. From the entries received, some will be short-listed for a more detailed review. These innovators will be sent
    1. Format for six minute power point presentation on the innovation
    2. Separate format for a six minute business plan presentation
  1. The selected innovators will have to submit both – innovation power-point presentation and the business plan power point presentation the prescribed formats within three weeks of receiving the confirmation.

The selection panel will assist the innovator in editing to help improve focus and impact.

  1. Innovators will be asked to make an in-person a six minute innovation power point presentation in Pune to the selection panel. The in-person presentation will be followed by a Q & A session to help clarification. Details of venue, date and time for the presentations will be communicated atleast two weeks in advance.
Phase III:   Final Selection
  1. From the Phase II innovations list, maximum of 16 entries will be chosen for showcasing at the Innovations 2009 event.  This will include
    1. Making a six minute innovation presentation to the selected audience
    2. Hosting an exhibition booth for display of their innovation
    3. And a possible live business plan pitch to another special panel / audience

Before the event, a dress rehearsal of the presentations will be held to help innovator fine tune the presentation and improve the focus and delivery.  For this purpose,  innovators will be requested to send their proposed final 6 minute power point presentation for a review  and also make an in-person presentation on the day of dress rehearsal.
